Childhood in Riga in family rooted there since 1824; younger brother and sister; outbreak of war; escaping of the Jews from there during first days of war; people's moving towards train station via "Brivibas"street; getting fired at by the Schutzmannschaft men; escape to Sigulda under air -raids by German planes; escape to Rybinsk; diseases due to hunger; living in Uni for several months; transfer to Namangan; father's death; enrolment into red army,beginning of 1943; fighting in Latvian division where about half of the soldiers there were Jews; getting salvo from cannons on border with Latvia; leg injury; information about murdering of Jews in the area; return of family to Riga,1945.
