Testimony of Lilian (Mayv) Novak, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, 1942, on her escape to Sweden Family background; from a Zionist family; receiving information regarding the date of their deportation by the Germans in October 1943; assistance from a neighbor in finding a hiding place during the deportation; return of her father to the house, his capture and deportation to Terezin; escape with her mother and two sisters to Sweden in October 1943; living in a hotel in Helsjon; correspondence of her mother with Polka Bernadotte in order to obtain information regarding the fate of the father; return of her father from Terezin to a convalescent camp in Sweden; end of the war; return to Copenhagen in 1945; attends elementary school; activity in the Bnei Akiva movement; studies abroad at Kibbutz Be'erot Yitzhak in 1959; work at the Danish consulate; aliya to Israel in 1968; absorption and life since then.
