Testimony of Asher (Oskar) Fürst, born in 1935 in Berlin, about his experiences in Antwerp; the Rivesaltes, Brens, and Vénissieux camps; with a family in Lyon, etc. Family life in Berlin before the wear; family escapes to Belgium in 1938; life in Antwerp; German occupation ensues in May 1940; family escapes to France; life under quarantine in the Brens camp; sent on to Rivesaltes a short time later; witness and brother removed from the camp with assistance from the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee; placed in a children's home near Grenoble; reunited with parents, who escaped from Rivesaltes; all Jews in the area rounded up in August 1942; deported to Vénissieux; adults and children separated; children exfiltrated by the Résistance; witness placed with a French-Jewish family in Lyon; father, a member of the resistance, is captured; witness escapes with concealing family to Flachet; hides in fields as Germans approach the area; liberated in summer 1944; shuttles among various children's homes; immigrates to Israel in 1949; adjusts to life in Israel; informed about murder of parents in Auschwitz.
