Testimony of Michal Maud (Steckelmacher) Beer, born in Prostějov, Czechoslovakia, 1929, regarding her experiences in Prostějov, Olomouc and Theresienstadt Daughter of a wealthy secular family in Prostějov; arrival of refugees from Austria and the Sudetenland area, following the Munich Conference and the Anschluss in 1938; German occupation in March 1939; imposition of restrictions and bans; ban on studies in schools; studies within the Jewish community in 1941; work of her father in the Jewish community and his help for refugees; deportation to Olomouc for several nights; transfer to Theresienstadt in July 1942; life in the ghetto including labor in agriculture; help for the elderly with the Yad Tomechet (Helping Hand) organization; receiving packages; studies; arrival of refugees in the ghetto in May 1943; visit by the Red Cross organization in June 1944; filming of a propaganda film in the ghetto in summer 1944; cancellation of the transfer to Switzerland as an orphan in February 1945; liberation by the Red Army in May 1945; life in quarantine due to typhus; aliya to Israel in 1949; absorption and rehabilitation.
