Family life in Tunis; mother—a well educated woman, father from a well-off family; aiding Jewish refugees from Tripoli; father banisihed to a forced-labor camp; German occupation ensues in November 1942; shellings; witness escapes to the home of an uncle in a village; back to Tunis; liberation in May 1943; father returns from the camp and dies; leaving Tunis for France with the Bnei Akiva movement in 1948; immigration to Israel in 1950; starting over and adjusting to life in Israel.
