Soviet occupation, 1940; deportation of Jews to the eastern Soviet Union; reoccupation by the Romanians, 1941; roundup of the city's Jews and their forced march; hunger and sleeping by the roadside in the freezing cold; transfer to Edineti Sat and Storojinet; murder of Jewish children by Romanian gendarmes; arrival in Atachi; transfer to Mogilev Podolskiy; continuation of the forced march to Krichanovka and transfer to Vendichany; death of her father.
Liberation by the Red Army, 1944; return to Cernauti; transfer to Storojinet and then to Bucuresti; assistance from Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Herzog to the family; transfer to a children's home in Dorna; aliya on the illegal immigrant ship "Hagana"; absorption.
