Correspondence regarding the confiscation of the Lederer art collection

Correspondence concerning the transfer of artworks confiscated from Jewish collectors to Viennese museums Correspondence of the Reich chancellery regarding the legacy of the Lederer family, and especially the confiscation of the Lederer art collection to the benefit of the 'Sonderauftrag Linz', and the transport of parts of the collection to Altaussee. Serena (Szeréna) Lederer, born Pulitzer, was the spouse of the Industry Magnate August Lederer. The family was resident of Raab (Győr), in the Bartensteingasse no 8 in Vienna and at the castle Ledererschlössel in Weidlingau. In Vienna, one room of the flat was dedicated to Klimt works. The Lederer collection was confiscated from Serena in 1940 and she fled to Budapest, where she died three years later. The Gestapo transferred the collection to Immendorf Castle, but the castle was set on fire in May 1945 so that it would not fall into the hands of the Allies, and the collection was destroyed. Included are several lists of parts of the collection.
