Testimony of Lea Liza (Kleiman) Shatz, born in Shargorod, Ukraine in 1931, regarding her experiences in the Shargorod Ghetto during 1941-1944
Her childhood in Shargorod; outbreak of war; German occupation; murder of neighbors; entry of the Romanian army into Shargorod; death of Jews due to hunger and diseases, along with refugees who were transferred to the Shargorod Ghetto from the Bukovina area; evacuation from the city of wagons filled with corpses; her family members are sick with typhus disease; survival; murder of all of her mother's relatives in Babiy Yar and Khmelnik by Ukrainian policemen; end of the war; rehabilitation after the war; aliya to Israel in 1978.
