Her childhood; her family is Orthodox; studies at the Zionist Chajes Gymnasium high school; activity of Zionist youth movements; occupation of Vienna by the Germans; the Anschluss in March 1938; Hitler's speech in Heroes' Square; her brother's arrest by the Gestapo and his release on the condition that he leave the Reich; the process of aliya to Eretz Israel; strict health examinations by the British in order to obtain aliya certificates; deportation of her parents to an assembly point from where they were transferred to Theresienstadt, because they could not pay for a passport; aliya to Eretz Israel with a group of young children via the port of Trieste on 6 September 1938; arrival at Tel Yosef; rehabilitation and absorption.
