She volunteers for the Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad (JCRA) in 1944; training at the JCRA; she is sent to the Netherlands in autumn 1944; her impressions of Antwerp, which was destroyed; move to Brussels; move to the village of Hrava (?); arrival to the village on 08 May 1945; murder of the collaborators in the village; move to Rotterdam; situation in the city of Rotterdam after the war; establishment of a children's hospital by the volunteers; discovery of a collection of antique paintings by Dutch painters in the cellar of the hospital building; cooperation with the OPK organization (State Organization for the Care of Jewish Orphans) in Amsterdam; she is sent to Bergen-Belsen after the liberation of the camp; care of children in Bergen-Belsen; move of Jewish orphans from Berlin to Bergen-Belsen; arrival of Otto Frank to Bergen-Belsen to search for his daughter Anna Frank; activities by a theater in Bergen-Belsen; help by the Jewish Brigade soldiers to smuggle Jews from Bergen-Belsen camp to Eretz Israel; she meets David Ben Gurion when he came to supervise the move of children from the camp to England in order to receive certificates for aliya to Eretz Israel; return to London; celebration of Hanukkah in Bergen-Belsen; creation of a Hanukkiah from empty bullet shells (Sadie transfers the Hanukkiah to an exhibition at the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC and the Holocaust Museum in Berlin, and afterwards to the Imperial War Museum in London).
