Testimony of Reuven Gotzegen, born in Biel, Czechoslovakia in 1926, regarding his experiences in the Satorjaujely ghetto and in the Auschwitz and Dachau camps Childhood before the war; Hungarian annexation of the area in 1938; worsening of the economic situation; escalation of antisemitism; German occupation in 1944; deportation to the Satorjaujely ghetto in April 1944; deportation to Auschwitz for two days in May 1944; transfer to Warsaw to clear rubble from the ghetto until July 1944; approach of the Red Army and death march to Dachau; continuation of death march to Kaufering; work repairing railroad tracks in Munich; hunger; transfer to Landsberg; work at a cement plant; hiding in a peasant's home until late April 1945; liberation by the US Army in May 1945; return to Biel; aliya to Israel in December 1948; absorption and rehabilitation.
