Due to the lack of archival records, it is not possible to accurately reconstruct the deportation of two Jewish deportees from Stuttgart to Auschwitz on September 14, 1943. There are some records which also mention September 24th as the date of the deportation.
Since the Reich Association of Jews in Germany and its affiliations had been dissolved on June 30, 1943, the deportees were apparently arrested by the Gestapo and taken to a local police station. While awaiting deportation, they underwent registration and were searched, a process often accompanied by violent assault. They were forced to hand over all valuables and cash to the Gestapo officials who were present. They were also forced to declare all of their assets. They were informed that their declared property was to be seized as they were considered as “enemies of the Reich”. In accordance with the regulations, armed police guarded the deportation train to Auschwitz.
We have no information as to the fate of these two deportees. It can be assumed that they were murdered immediately upon their arrival in Auschwitz-Birkenau....
