Transport No.47h left Vienna’s Nordbahnhof on September 1, 1944 and arrived in Auschwitz Birkenau on September 4. It consisted of 24 Jews. The average age of the deportees was 39; four of them were over of 61.
Historian Danuta Czech notes in the Auschwitz Chronicle that this was a group transport organized by the RSHA and included 43 Jews from various cities in Germany.Following the train’s arrival the SS men carried out a selection. Five Jewish men were sent to the camp and were given the Nos. B9103- 9107. The remaining deportees were immediately murdered in the gas chambers.
