Transport No. 47c left Vienna’s Nordbahnhof (Northern Railway Station) on October 7, 1943, and arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau on October 8. The transport consisted of 25 Jews. The average age of the deportees was 41.
Historian Danuta Czech notes in the Auschwitz Chronicle that this was a group transport, consisting of Jews from various cities in Germany.
Following the arrival at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the SS men carried out a selection. 171 men were sent to the camp and given the Nos. 156743-156913. 97 women were sent to the camp as well, and given the Nos. 64610-64706. The remaining Jews were immediately murdered in the gas chambers....
