The transport left Vienna’s Nordbahnhof (northern railway station) on December 8, 1942 and arrived in Auschwitz on December 10. The transport consisted of 9 Jews. There is no existing documentation regarding the fate of this transport. Apparently, it was attached to a larger transport that left Berlin on December 9. Historian Danuta Czech notes in the Auschwitz Chronicles that on December 10, a transport organized by the RSHA (Reichssicherheitshauptamt - Reich Main Security Office) arrived in Auschwitz. It consisted of 1,060 Jewish men, women and children originating from various cities in Germany. On the train’s arrival, the SS men carried out a selection process. 137 men and women were sent to the camp. They were given Nos. 26621-26645. The remaining 898 deportees were sent directly to the gas chambers and murdered.
