On May 3, the 15th transport left Thessaloniki. According to the list sent to the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki on January 29, 1945 by the Greek Railway company, this transport included 2,600 people. This number included Jews from Thessaloniki and Jews from the cities of Florina and Veroia in Western Macedonia who had been transported to Thessaloniki prior to their deportation. The deportees were taken to the Baron Hirsch ghetto where their valuables were confiscated. They remained in the ghetto until they were placed on the 15th deportation train from Thessaloniki to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The train arrived in Auschwitz on May 8. Upon arrival, 568 men were admitted into the camp and tattooed with the numbers 120650-121217. 247 women were also admitted and tattooed with the numbers 44380-44626. The remaining Jews were murdered in the gas chambers immediately upon arrival. Nearly all of the deportees from Florina were murdered.
