Departure Date 04/08/1942 Arrival Date 06/08/1942
Reeder finally ruled in accordance with the Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) and against the plan of the RSHA not to deport Belgian nationals. Thus Reeder secured the collaboration of the AJB since he pretended that only 10,000 foreign nationals would be deported from Belgium and only for work purposes. The Sipo-SD reckoned with difficulties after implementing the call for fatigue duty. It therefore ordered a far greater number of call-up letters (the highest number one deportee showed was 9,153), hoping that the required number of deportees would show up voluntarily. Still, the transport list did not reach its quota of 1,000 deportees in three days....
