This transport departed from Tilsit in the early morning of August 25, 1942, and arrived in Thersienstadt on August 27, 1942. It consisted of 763 deportees from the German provinces of East Prussia, Pomerania and Brandenburg. The German Railway Company (Reichsbahn) received an order for a special passenger train that was given the designation Da 506. This particular transport passed through several jurisdictions. Presumably it was organized primarily by the Gestapo in Königsberg which was responsible for the majority of the deportees. As per the RSHA guidelines, the transport was administered by the local Gestapo branches. . At Tilsit, Allenstein, Köslin, Stettin and Frankfurt an der Oder, the Gestapo compiled lists of Jews to be deported from their jurisdictions and sent it in advance to the authorities in Königsberg....
