Frankfurt am Main central train station
Theresienstadt,Ghetto,Czechoslovakia
Three months after the previous transport left for Theresienstadt on June 14, 1944 with one Jew aboard, the Gestapo in Frankfurt am Main launched another transport in October, comprised of nine women. They were likely placed under guard on a regular passenger train going from Frankfurt am Main to Prague in one or two compartments reserved by the Gestapo. The train reached Theresienstadt on 25 October 1944, and is presumed to have departed on October 23 or 24 since in cases of individual transports the Gestapo would allocate a compartment in a regular passenger train from Frankfurt via Dresden and Prague which was due to arrive within a day.
In the Theresienstadt ghetto records, the transport is referred to as XII/9, the Roman numeral XII denoting Frankfurt.
