Transport V/11 was the last transport to leave the Dresden district for Theresienstadt. It departed from Chemnitz in the early hours of 14 February 1945 and arrived in Theresienstadt on 15. February 1945.
Apart from Martin Mutschmann who, as Gauleiter of Sachsen, was one of the chief perpetrators of the persecution of Saxony’s Jewry, the head of the Gestapo Chemnitz, Bruno Lettow was also involved in authorizing and planning this transport.
As soon as the Gestapo obtained the lists, they would pass copies to their local Department for Jewish Affairs, known in German as “Judenstelle”. Those Jews selected for deportation were notified in writing....
