Transport Ac left Brno for the Theresienstadt Ghetto on March 19, 1942. It consisted of 1,000 Jews, some were residents of Brno and 417 were inhabitants of Boskovice, a town in the local vicinity. According to archival records, on March 14, the Jews of Boskovice were ordered, to pack their personal belongings. A local Czech wagon driver named Panacek transferred their luggage to the train station where it was loaded on to a train that traveled to Brno. Elderly and sick Jews were transported on this train as well. The following day the remaining Jews of Boskovice were brought to Brno and transferred to a collection point in a school building on Merhautova St. 37 upon their arrival. Prior to the train’s departure, several staff members of the Prague Jewish community Transports Department arrived in Brno to carry out administrative measures according to the orders they received from the Central office for Jewish Immigration. They prepared a list of deportees, registered Jewish property, issued notices regarding the date of deportation, and assisted in packing and carrying luggage....
