Strzyżów is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Horodło, in Hrubieszów County, Lublin Voivodeship, eastern Poland. It lies about 7 kilometers south of Horodło, and some 30 kilometers southeast of Uchanie.
In 1921, there were sixty-eight Jews in Strzyżów, out of a total population of 923.[1]
The Germans entered the area on September 26, 1939, and, after a brief interlude of Soviet control, they reoccupied it in October 1939.[2]They assaulted the Jews, used them for forced labor, and robbed their property....
