On Yom Kippur (Jewish Day of Atonement), on October 2, 1941, all the Jews in the Tuliszków ghetto were deported some 30 km southeast, to Kowale Pańskie.
Nachum Zejf was amongst the deportees. In 1948, he testified at the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, how the Jews in Tuliszków had to leave town:
"Every family received [horse-drawn wagons] for which we had to pay 12 marks. The time we got to pack was one hour. Most of the Jews' possessions were left behind."...
