On August 22, 1942 a transport left the Pithiviers camp for the Drancy camp with a total of 1,205 Jews, among them 779 children. The surveillance of the transport was undertaken by the Gendarmerie of Beaune. These children spent very little time in the Drancy camp and most were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau on August 24, 1942.
