Transport from Magdeburg, Magdeburg (Magdeburg), Saxony Province, Germany to Berlin, Berlin (Berlin), City of Berlin, Germany on 09/1943

Transport
Departure Date 09/1943 Arrival Date 09/1943
In the fall of 1943, 38 year-old Klara Klemm (neé Heit), a Jewish resident of Magdeburg, was called to the Gestapo headquarters. It is unknown how long she remained in the custody of the Gestapo and what exactly transpired. Presumably, she met the criteria for deportation. Since in Magdeburg at the time there were no longer any other Jews who could have been deported, she was sent to Berlin where she joined a transport.
This exact date on which this small transport took place is not known. We know it was between September 10-27, 1943. Klara Klemm was presumably put under guard in a prisoner car or a regular passenger car which departed from Magdeburg, arriving in Berlin on the same day. In Berlin, Mrs. Klemm was brought to an assembly site. On September 27, 1943, she was placed on transport 43 from Berlin to Auschwitz-Birkenau that departed on September 28, 1943 with another estimated 72 - 80 other Jewish prisoners.
According to the records of the Bundesarchiv, Klara Klemm died in Auschwitz on December 6, 1943.
