Bib of baby Hadassah Pilz, born in the Lodz ghetto and murdered in Auschwitz

Artifacts
Hadassah was born in early 1943 after her parents, Berek and Betty had been transferred to the Lodz Ghetto from Kalisz Ghetto where they had married. When Hadassah was only three months old, Betty contracted tuberculosis and died in the Ghetto. Berek moved in with his sister Leah and the two worked shifts so they could share the care of Hadassah, but when Berek, his sister and baby Hadassah were deported to Auschwitz, Hadassah and Leah were sent to their death. Berek survived. After the liberation, Berek returned to the room where he had lived in the Ghetto and found the bib, a last remaining memento from his daughter.
